12 early Christmas gifts for you

written by Paula Hartmann

I know it’s not Christmas yet, but I want to give you a gift today as a sign for my appreciation of your ongoing support.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my weekly letters and supporting me in my dream to help bring more joy into this world.

Every time I get a reply from my readers I smile or run to my family and shout, “I got this beautiful response!!!". It motivates me to keep writing and to believe in my vision.

The gift that I’m giving you today is a list of immaterial goodies. You don’t need to return them if you don’t like them and they won’t take up precious space in your house.

The list contains recipes that I love, crafts that are fun, activities that will make you happy and other things that will nourish your soul.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Gift no. 1: Raise your mood with my High Vibe Playlist on spotify. Every time I need a pick up, I put it on and shake all the stress out! It works wonders.

Gift no. 2: I pulled out the three most successful articles I wrote in 2018. Make yourself a chai latte, cuddle up on the couch and enjoy!

Gift no. 3: I want to share a recipe for spiced hot chocolate with you that we made for all the women at our last women’s circle. It was so delicious. In my previous life I must have been Mexican, because I could drink this stuff every day. If you’ve never had a spiced hot cocoa, it’s time you get on it! It’s healthy and oh so delicious. I make it with unsweetened almond milk.

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon organic cocoa

2 cups of milk (I like almond but regular dairy milk would work, too)

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon vanilla

dash of salt

1 chili pepper, split in half and seeds removed or cayenne pepper (optional)

1-4 tablespoons coconut sugar, depending on taste (you can sub brown sugar or honey)

Gift no. 4: Here is a list of my favourite 5 books I read in the last two years.

Learn to walk in the dark by Barbara Brown Taylor

The artist’s way by Julia Cameron

Women who run with the wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estess

Living in the light by Shakti Gawain

Intuition by Judee Gee

Gift no. 5: I don’t really like standing in the kitchen for hours. I’m not much of a cook, but these no bake chocolate fudge cookies are so easy and take literally 10 minutes to make. And the cool thing is: They are probably the healthiest cookies I’ve ever had.

Gift no. 6: I don’t use store bought perfume anymore, but I make my own. It’s so easy and smells divine, has healing properties and is 100% natural. I use it in the morning, but also when I feel stressed. When I feel anxious for example, I spray it in my face, take a couple of deep breaths. It helps me to feel better. Here is the recipe how to make your own body spray with essential oils:

Ingredients:

100 ml distilled water

6 drops organic lavender essential oil

9 drops organic geranium essential oil

Mix everything together in a small spray bottle. You can use it right away!

Gift no. 7: Another thing that I do when I don’t feel 100% or to prevent this from happening is a Breathwork meditation from Erin Telford. It’s on youtube and it is absolutely magical and powerful. Since I’m doing it regularly I feel less afraid, less overwhelmed, more focussed and loved. Try it out!

Gift no. 8: I want to give you a list of things you can do in this cold season that will make you feel good. Here are a few ideas:

  • Skating
  • Swimming
  • Sauna
  • Hiking in the snow
  • Danceparties in the living room
  • Going to a Christmas Market
  • Baking Cookies or making the 10 min. Chocolate Fudge cookies
  • Putting on relaxing music and drawing
  • Taking a walk at night and marvelling at all the Christmas lights
  • Writing letters to people you love
  • Taking a bath with some lavender essential oil
  • Putting on some healing music and just relaxing on the couch
  • Crafting pompoms, paper snowflakes or christmas ornaments

Gift no. 9: Do you like scones? If yes, you will enjoy this recipe. Again, it’s vegan, has only 3 ingredients and doesn’t take long (20 min.) They taste best fresh out of the oven with some butter or jam on it. Enjoy!

Gift no. 10: Make a wish jar for 2019. Take a vase or a jar, take post-it notes and write down all your wishes putting them into the wish jar. If you feel like being very creative, decorate your jar with pompoms, glitter, stickers, tape, feathers and put it somewhere where you can see it. This is a wonderful thing to do between the holidays. You could also do it with your family together. It’s always fun to wait 6 months and then check what happened to your dreams. Go for it!

Gift no. 11: The most nourishing thing for me to eat is a soup or a stew. Here is recipe for a vegan coconut lentil stew that tastes really good with rice. Enjoy!

Gift no. 12: Make a pompom decoration for your tree! Pompoms are so fun to make. For me it’s very meditative to play with colours and yarn. Here is an easy tutorial how to make your own pompom. You can put them on a string and use them for a beautiful garland or make a single one and hang it in your tree. By the way, kids love to make these (except for my son), but all the other kids that come over to our house want to make pompoms with me. Luke gets very upset about it, because he says I’m stealing his friends. Haha! Too bad.

An early Merry Christmas to YOU, your family and your friends!

I so appreciate you!!!
