How To Turn Your Frustration Into Meaningful Work

Hey Love,

I had a very clear moment this week. You know, sometimes you forget why you're doing what you're doing. You start doubting what's the point of making a website, writing, researching, reading and all the work you put into your creation. But then I had this moment and it was pure clarity and a reminder why I started this thing in the first place.

I was listening to a song of a very talented friend of mine who decided to not pursuit music as a career. I got so mad listening to her singing, because it's obvious, that she is wasting her potential in whatever she is doing right now - BIG TIMES. Yeah, like as if Michael Jackson would've said: "No, I don't wanna make music anymore."

If I would have her talent, I would rock a different stage every night. I wouldn't care if I had 5 or 100 people in front of me. I would just enjoy using this one-in-a-million voice, no matter if I get paid for it or not. Unfortunately I suck at singing, so this is not an option.

I was surprised that I got so frustrated about this. But suddenly I knew why.

I hate to see wasted potential.

Some part of me is very thankful for this person not embracing her talent, because it gave me the following insights.

THIS IS MY MANIFESTO

1. I WANNA INSPIRE AND MOTIVATE WOMEN TO EXPRESS THEIR HEART'S DESIRE

2. I WANNA HEAL WOMEN'S PERCEPTION ABOUT WHAT'S POSSIBLE AND HOW MUCH THEY'RE WORTH

3. I WANNA HELP WOMEN TO GET AWARE OF THEIR DISTRACTIONS, SELF-SABOTAGES AND FEARS

4. I WANNA HELP THEM TO FIND CLARITY AND CONCENTRATE ON WHAT THEY REALLY WANT

5. I WANNA GIVE THEM CONFIDENCE TO BREAK THROUGH THEIR LIMITING BELIEFS

6. I WANNA MAKE THEM AWARE OF THEIR OWN POWER AND  WHO THEY REALLY ARE

And when I wrote all these things down, I asked myself:

How can I do this?

How can I be in service of women who wanna follow their dreams but have all these obstacles in their way?

So, I thought one way is to write you guys a letter and ask you how you feel.

Maybe you have a secret dream that seems so impossible that you think it’s not even worth talking about.

Maybe you have a desire burning inside of you but you have obstacle 1 and 2 in your way and you don’t have a clue how to overcome these things.

Maybe you are desperate because everybody seems to have some sort of a desire, but you don’t know how it even feels to be enthusiastic about life.

Maybe you would love to work creatively but your partner and family don't support you.

I wanna make it work for you. Not because I’m a selfless being who is just happy helping others, but because this is all I care for. This is what I research and read about every day. I don’t even know where this desire comes from. But it's there and that’s why I know it has meaning.

If you have any questions or you just wanna let me know where you’re at, I’m here. Write me a personal message on my Facebook page or hit reply (if you get this as an email).

Here is a quote from Martha Graham - one of the most important artists and dancers of the 20th century. It captures exactly what I feel inside of me:

"There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep yourself open and aware to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. ... No artist is pleased. [There is] no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others."

The "divine dissatisfaction" Martha Graham talks about is the same as the frustration that I felt when I heard my friend singing.

Frustration is nothing else than the desire to fill a gap between what is and what's possible. It's an energy of great potential.

This energy can create beautiful things. It makes me write this article. Others feel the need to design furniture or to heal sick kids or to make delicious food.

Once again...

"You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep yourself open and aware to the urges that motivate you."

Please, dare to keep your channel open!

Love and gratitude,

I'M EASY TO FIND
