O.k. guys. Today I 'm gonna get right to the point.
Here is a truthbomb:
This hurts, right?
But don't feel guilty about it, Sweetie!
I did that for years, too.
What I mean with a true desire is something you feel burning inside of you, something which makes you glow, which lets your eyes sparkle when you talk about it.
Pleasures, on the other hand, make you feel comfortable. A cozy home, new shoes, a bottle of wine, a three course menue, the 4-day-wellness-vacation, strawberry cheesecake, the flirt with your neighbour, a trip to paris etc.
Don't get me wrong.
Whereas a new Iphone makes you happy for a sweet little while, finding your true desire will make you feel content and one with yourself. It gives you a high no drug can ever give you.
The question is: Why don't we dare to have a look at this burning fire inside of us?
I know why. I've been there.
In fact, it is so scary to follow your true desires.
I won't lie to you.
When I quit my 9-5 job for studying dance full time, I had to make some sacrifices:
Was I jealous of my friends who went on vacations twice a year,
who had this awesome spacious apartment, who were going out every night to eat at the best restaurants in town?
But, here is what I got instead:
I felt fully alive.
I felt challenged.
I got to know myself.
I was a creator.
I was aligned with my soul's purpose.
I felt that I did something meaningful in my life.
So, here are some questions for you.
What fire is burning inside of you?
Which pleasures are holding you back to get closer to your true desires?
What is more important in your life? Comfort or satisfaction?
